NURSERY YARD PLANTS
Our nursery yard is filled with perennials, shrubs, trees, and ground covers.
We grow most of our own perennials – from the most popular varieties to the most unique! We have a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes.
We also carry evergreen and deciduous trees for you to select from right here in our yard and we also offer the service of locating trees we do not carry in stock. If we can find it, we’ll bring it in for you!
What a variety of shrubs we have! Boxwood, ilex, rhododendron, and many more. Different sizes, shapes, varieties. Special orders and arranging direct shipments can also be arranged.
Don’t miss out on our ground cover selection. From ivy to pachysandra, we have it!
We pride ourselves on growing high quality plant material.
We start off the year with potted bulb plants, hydrangea, ranunculus, easter lilies, and many more early spring crops.
In the spring we grow pots of annuals & hanging baskets. We also offer flats of annuals, foliage plants, and unusual tropical plants.
Summer time is hot at Valley View! We offer large pots of annuals for summer time planting. There are great plants to be found at here in the summer; sunflowers, pentas, vinca rosea and more. You may also find interesting/unique varieties of flowers from 3.5″ pots up to 5gal pots!
In the fall we grow; chrysanthemums, cabbage, kale, ornamental peppers, pansy & viola for great fall color in your garden. Don’t miss out on our 12″ Belgium mums – we’re famous for them!
We wrap up the year with our awesome poinsettias, grown right here on site as well as cyclamen, paperwhites, amaryllis & azalea’s. December at Valley View should not be missed – the greenhouse is a beautiful sight to behold this time of year.
TOPSOIL, MULCH & SWEET PEET
Valley View only sells premium topsoil, shredded pine mulch & sweet peet!
These materials are sold by the yard. They can be picked up or delivered. Bulk direct deliveries are available also.
Topsoil – Screened by a 1/4″ screen. Great for planting beds and lawns.
Mulch – We carry a “pine” premium blend that has a nice color and smell.*
Sweet Peet – This is a mulch type product with many benefits. It enriches the soil, improves tilth, encourages natural growth, and helps protect against chemicals.
* We also offer a hardwood blend as a cost effective alternative.

Seasonal Price List
We receive shipments of nursery stock daily in spring and weekly in the summer and fall. Because our inventory is constantly changing, we do not publish availability or price lists for the nursery yard. We recommend calling or emailing about nursery stock. Do you deliver mulch and topsoil and sweet Peet?
Yes! We can deliver mulch, topsoil & sweet peet to your job site or residence. But before ordering you’ll need to know how many yards you will require. (click here for “material calculator”). At this time we do not take phone orders, please come in to Valley View and a sales associate will help you!
How much mulch, topsoil and sweet do your trucks hold?
Mulch – up to and including 10 yards per truck
Topsoil – up to and including 3 yards per truck
Sweet Peet – up to and including 10 yards per truck
Do you deliver plants?
Yes! We are able to deliver on a flat bed, “rack style” box truck or dump truck to most of Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield counties. Deliveries may take up to three business days, but sometimes sooner! Delivery fees are based on mileage and quantity of plants, which will be calculated after shopping. Please note that we do not offer the service of moving plants on your property, all deliveries are tailgate only.
What kind of plants do you sell?
We sell annuals, perennials, ornamental grasses, ground covers, shrubs & trees. We also grow many holiday plants such as spring flowering bulbs, chrysanthemums and poinsettias.
How many plants do I need?
How many plants you will need depends on the size of your planting bed. You’ll need to know the approximate square footage. (click here for “spacing guide”)
Are you open to the public?
Although Valley View is a wholesale greenhouse and nursery yard, anyone is welcome to shop, but come prepared… We are not a retail garden center! We are self-service. You must have a working knowledge of plants, have the correct vehicle to transport plants and wear your boots! You will get dirty!
Can I have plant material put on hold?
Unfortunately, we do not “hold” plants for the general public. For our wholesale customers, we are able to write a sales order in advance for limited items.
What plants are deer resistant?
There are many plants that are deer resistant. (click here for “deer resistant list”)
*Disclaimer – While these plants are deer resistant, this does not suggest that they are invincible to deer.
Do you accept credit cards? How can I pay?
We accept cash, checks, or credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover & American Express). We do not accept checks on any discounted material.
Can I get a discount?
We offer discounts to the trade only. You must be an established business in the plant industry, reselling the plants. You must be setup on our computer system to become eligible for a trade discount. Please contact us for our customer application form.
Do I have to pay sales tax?
We charge everyone sales tax unless you have completed our application process; have filled out a customer setup and submitted a valid resale certificate or tax exempt form. Contact us for more information.
What are your hours?
Monday – Friday 8:00-4:30
Saturday – 8:00-4:00
Sunday – Closed
Valley View Greenhouses has been owned and operated by the same family since 1979, with the third generation rising up through the ranks of the business and managing our present day-to-day operations. Our convenient location in northern Westchester County makes it easy for customers throughout the Westchester, Putnam , and Fairfield county areas to purchase our top quality plants.
As a fully operational greenhouse, we offer annuals and perennials that we grow ourselves right here on the premises. Because we are growers, we can control our production conditions – excellence is our standard. The result – we sell nothing but the healthiest, most superior plants to our customers.
The same can be said for the nursery stock that we bring into our yard – we only accept A+ quality material to insure that our clientele purchase the finest quality trees and shrubs available.

- Take exit 38 toward CT – Rt 123/Norwalk/New Canaan
- Take Rt 123 North for 7.5 Miles

- We are up 2.5 miles on the right
- Take exit 15 to Route 7 North
- Exit off of Rt 7 North at New Canaan Ave
- Proceed to end of ramp and make a right
- At intersection/light in front of Wendy’s Restaurant make a right onto Rt 123 north for about 9 miles
